Just Stop!
It's been a while since you're heard from me no? I was thinking about this subject this morning before my classes, that people want everything to be a disease or disability. When a child coughs, oh it must whooping-cough, or when a child falls to the ground, oh he/she must have narcolepsy, or how about my child reads so slow, he/she must have a learning disability! Come on people not everything is an illness or a disability. As a matter of fact, I read very well, but when it comes to delivering a speech I bomb. Does this mean I have a disability? Not at all, it just means it's not a strength I have. I'm doing better in math, but there was a time I just didn't understand it at all. Does that mean I have a learning disability? No, it just means I learn a different way, and by learning a different way doesn't make you any less smarter than the next person. We all learn at difference paces, some people just catch on quicker. Take this model for example:
This is a VARK model. This is primarily how we learn, some have a combination of Kinesthetic and Visual, which in my case I learn this way. By touching and visualizing things I get a better sense of how to work certain problems in and out of the classroom. This is how I also can cook/bake without measuring, I just know how much of something a certain dish needs without measuring, which by the way I think makes a better cook/baker.
I really get tired of hearing parents and other "professionals" label a child with ADD or ADHD. Not all children or even adults fit that category, they just learn different, certain things have to capture their attention to get them going. All these labeling just seems like a fast way out of actually helping an individual reach their full potential! Then we have the other side where teachers just teach way too far, and often times I think they forget that not everyone in that class is on the same level. It's impossible because everyone didn't have the same teaching growing up. Since I started college 3 semesters ago, for the first time I learned how to do fractions! It was a great feeling to actually know how to breakdown a fraction. I learned it because I had an awesome professor! He kept going over and over the material and on top of that, him going over certain problems helped me to do my homework so much faster! Now fractions are a breeze. Yes, it really sucked to not know how to do something as easy as fractions, but I believe the fault lies a lot with my middle school/high school teachers. I didn't get the quality education that I needed and that held me back in my mind and it made me not want to try anymore because I just didn't understand the material. Understanding is half the battle but it puts you at a good starting point. So, no everything is not an illness or disability, we all learn at our own speed, and people especially teachers shouldn't make you feel bad about that, the least they could do is help you, point you in a directions of a tutor. Any who that's my spiel for this afternoon.

New Tomb Raider Game
If you're a Lara Croft fan, you know the next installment will be released really soon, like just around the corner soon! So far I've seen a few Youtubers' walkthrough and I must say the graphics are really good! Lara is really beat up throughout this game and now I understand why she's so self-assured and confident in previous games. It's great to see the human aspect of her, when she actually needs help to survive, but she's still one tough lady. The voice of Lara is Camilla Luddington. Now why does that name sound familiar? As for the actual physical appearance of Lara, she finally has the correct proportions, her boobs are overtly huge! When I first saw the trailer for the game, Lara looked as if Square Enix based her features off of Jessica Alba. Weird in itself. Any who I certainly hope any gamers will buy this game, it looks fun. I've been playing Tomb Raider ever since the first one was released, my least favorite is probably Tomb Raider:Underworld.

Bleh
I feel crappy, my heart aches and it's cold... We all have days when nothing is going right or it's going good and a monkey wrench is thrown in the mix. I must admit it's sure tiresome having to keep going without when you really need some things. It's also jacked up when you want to talk to someone but have no one to talk too. I'm listening to some music for a pick me up but it isn't working. Some days I don't know what my issue is, I just feel low in spirit. Speech is stressing me out, I just wish it was over, the bright side is it will be at the beginning of May. You know what would give me a pick me up? A new laptop or desktop, and a new bed. Have mercy to my lower back, my spine feels like it's moved closer to the right side of my ribs! Maybe a few hundred dollars would get me some of the things I really need, like some new clothes and shoes, and some groceries. You know it's difficult to eat healthy while I'm on this weightloss journey! Trader Joe's is my friend, that's my favorite store to shop, you can get a lot for a little money and it's quality food on top of that. So if any of you know a millionaire or even a hundred thousandaire point them my way. Maybe they'd feel sorry for my lower back and purchase a bed for me. Every college student should have a basic laptop right? Someone throw a prayer up for me that I get one soon, I've been without one for a little over a year. I'm sure you're wondering how I'm typing on here huh? This isn't even my laptop, it's my sister's. I'm 28 soon to be 29 April 9th using my youngest sister's laptop. Could things get any worse? For once, I'd like to have something that is mine.

America's Lack of Health Care
I came across the PBS channel, I stopped to see what was playing. A man by the name Roger Weisberg shot a documentary. Basically it was about 47 million people in this very country not having health care. This documentary told four different stories about these peoples live. One woman had Ovarian Cancer, she went to every place imaginable just to get a diagnosis and was turned away, finally she got her diagnosis and was told she needed surgery to remove her ovaries. She got that taken care of, but the cancer spread to her stomach, she was in stage three of the cancer. She said had she had proper health care, she would have gotten it taken care of early. She used to be an apartment manager, due to some sort of body problem she was having she could no longer walk the stairs at her job, so she had to let the job go, which ended her health care. So she goes through the chemo, and finally gets it into remission. Her 50th birthday arrives, she gets to spend it with her family and dies two days later!
Then there was another story, it's about a Hispanic man. He worked at a warehouse. He had to take his vacation and sick days because he had Gangrene in his foot. He needed surgery for his foot, he was worried that if he didn't get the surgery done before his health insurance ran out he'd be screwed. He got his surgery done just in time, they had to amputate his foot. So he has to get a temporary prosthetic made (mind you his insurance covered it, so they said at the time) he wears it many months over the time he was suppose to. So he goes back to the hospital and his doctor is now telling him his insurance didn't cover the prosthetic and it would be put on his bill. not only that, this guy is a diabetic and has no money to get this medicine. So he ends up going to some sort of health clinic and asked what could be done about him getting the medication he needs. The lady at the front desk sets up an appointment for him in the next week or two, this guy's sugar is at 400 something and I think his sugar should have been in the 100's. So he's like why does he have to wait so long to get help. He's kicked out his house and is forced to live in a motel. But in the end he got another job in a warehouse and is doing fine.
Another story is about a man who is a diabetic and didn't have the money to pay for his meds. He was just a sickly guy, everything went wrong with him. So him and his wife went to see his doctor and the doctor gave him some meds(what the had left) and tried to help him get what he needed. This guy had to cut corners just to save enough meds to last through the month. They went around the mill, couldn't get any help. So he ended up in the hospital. He had edema. After that was cleared he had to go back in because his blood wasn't getting to where it needed, it kept clotting, so they had to get his blood flowing again. He goes home and some how falls down, I think he hit his head. So he's hurt again, they have him all strapped up in the bed. He tells his wife he's done, and she's telling him please don't leave me I love you, all he can say he's done, and he starts crying and so does she, she's trying to console him and tell him everything will be alright. So she leaves, two hours later he dies. Two days later he's finally approved for health care!
I know that had to be a slap in the face to her, all that time they needed the help they couldn't get it because they didn't "qualify" for any benefits. People work hard all their live and they can't get what's due to them. I just think that's messed up. This country is suppose to be the best of the best, but it's like they'd rather see us dead before they help. I was really upset when I saw this documentary. I can't say that I was surprised. We pay more for health care and get nothing back! Anyway I just thought I'd share this with you all.

Kim Jaejoong:MINE
What is up folks?! I just wanted to take some time out to express my love for Jaejoong's MINE mini-album. When I first heard MINE I was like, that's what's up! When you listen to the song it makes you want to rock out hard. I've been listening to it pretty much all day. Then there's the song All Alone, it makes you feel, or me at least like he's actually singing about a real person, sad and beautiful at the same time. It's nice and refreshing that he chose to take this route. Who'd ever thought Kim Jaejoong and rock music would meld together perfectly? He just killed MINE and All Alone. Just in case you have no clue of who or what I'm talking about here's a video. You might even want to study the Korean language by the time this video is over! Much love to Jaejoong!
